What is it with people wearing Air-Pods everywhere?

I’m in high school and I see people my age and ones into their 20s wearing Air-Pods, and other headphones, everywhere. In the hallways at school, at the grocery store, at dinner with their family, at work (a big trend I’ve noticed). It makes me sick knowing that my generation has no clue how to communicate with others. With the addition of wireless headphones, kids really are on their phones 24/7 instead of talking with their friends. And when we are with our friends, someone’s always on their phone or has headphones in. Has anyone else noticed these losers?
Edit: Lmao, looks like quite a few of you are passionate about overpriced pieces of plastic in your ears. I’m sure glad I saved my money instead of keeping up with a stupid trend.

Air Pods are awesome. I love to wear them when I am fishing or doing yard work.
They will read a text to you and you can just respond with a voice text and never have to go looking for your phone.

Or maybe they don’t want to interact with everyone all the time? I’m 28 and would much rather listen to a podcast, some music or whatever instead of making small talk with probably 80-90% of the people I come across on a daily basis. But, that’s by choice, not inability.
