Damn I’m sorry about that
It’s never in gods will to do something like this to a fellow brother
I will pray for him, as well ask god for forgiveness for making him angry

electricity

That's a discovery rather than an invention. But it's on the right track.

Semiconductor has been stated and I think that's the right answer. This allowed computers to become powerful, and everything we use daily in personal electronics, including cell phones.

Developments in medicine/biology will ultimately have a larger impact. But most of that would not be possible without the computer.

Others have said air conditioning, and that's not far off...

THE answer is refrigeration.

Besides allowing for air conditioning it, more importantly, changed the diet of the industrialized world. It's amazing how much shite you can get done when you're not worried about scrounging for your next meal and can preserve what you kill/ gather

This person is on the right track. Watt's invention of the steam engine allowed the invention of refrigeration. Watt wanted a device that would pump water out of mines, but it led to so many other things such as trains and refrigeration. Others have mentioned electricity. Electricity was not invented, it was "discovered" during the 1700s. Coupled with a steam engine, a generator would produce that amperage that we use for so many things today such as refrigeration. Who wants a warm beer?

My thought is electricity. Made so many things possible. Some may say that wheel but that was around for many millenia and not much more came about because of it.

And the Indians still had no clue about it even after the Europeans pulled a Darwin with those darn blankets.

Not an invention but an innovation: the Haber-Bosch process. Allowed greater efficiency in growing food which allows more food to people, more caloric intake, etc.

Yeah, maybe not technology per se, but this changed the world moreso than probably anything. Haber's story is wild, and tragic.

The Scientific Method

It advanced the process of thinking. People started looking around and ask questions.

Through the last couple centuries, as a greater percentage of the population accepted and adopted an empirical method of developing knowledge, advances in technology accelerated.

Sliced bread. It gave us a standard against which all great inventions are measured.
