There are actually worse reasons to be with someone.
If this person's wealth buys him security and power in his relationships with women, then good for him.
Not everyone is cut out for the family life. Maybe he knows he's not cut out for it. Better to use his advantages than let them rot on the vine.

I could have that life if I chose to. But I have a wife and kids. The wife and I argue and things aren't always great, but I know she loves me. My kids love me, and bring me joy and pride that you can't get from anything else. Sure, married life can be difficult and hectic, sometimes I look over there at Gatsby and think "he's got it made". But then we'll have a really good day with the kids and I'll think to myself that I've got it made. I guess to each his own.

If we get along otherwise, but she probably only came around initially for the money, sounds like a great deal. Probably tries harder to please than a regular wife.
Now if it's one of those sad situations where I have a comb-over, pretty much nothing in common, get walked all over, constantly handing out cash just so she doesn't call me a loser.............I'd probably still do it if I was getting laid.
