Don't know why you're getting downvoted here.

I appreciate the perspective, but yeah this is sort of stuff we know already. I think that is why there is a resurgence of people not taking shite from their boss.

The idea that sometimes you have a boss you don't like and you have to put up with him is nonsense. It's going to literally take years off of my life, so I think I'll figure something else out. That's bad stress. Good stress is a different thing entirely, but I don't think this guy is talking about good stress. It sounds more like he is talking about stress that you're told to put up with and you never question. I don't know who told him not to question it, but they're wrong.

The idea that you stay loyal to a company is also garbage. Like he says, there's no safety net there.

This is known stuff.

I actually listened rather than read the cliff notes. Maybe because I’m exactly 48 and have been working in the Houston rat race for 25 years now.

Although recently bought a small piece of land in Belize’s emerging beach area and targeting a move there by 2028. Hopefully while working another 10-15 years as remote CPA before retiring.

I disagree with the work thing and I have found that the toughest thing about what I do is filling the gaps for lazy fricks who's mantra is:

- "It's not in my job description"
- "prioritizing self-care, mental health, and work-life balance over the traditional "hustle culture."

If EVERYONE did as the creator mentioned an entire society would stop.

People who are in the 48 year old age range are some of the worst right now. Many between 20 to 48 absolutely suck the life out of corporate culture with their selfishness today.

ETA: 48 = millennial & 68 = Boomer.

If you are 48, you better start thinking about what you are going to do when you get to be 78 or 88 and who is going to take care of you? Kids, stay at home, nursing home. And maybe more importantly, how much is that going to cost? We are dealing with this trainwreck with my in-laws who massively underprepared for their twilight retirement years. They wanted to stay at home with help but don’t have near enough money for that, so it is the nursing home and let me tell you, that system is broken. Add in siblings that are worthless and you have family breakdowns all because people didn’t plan their business when it mattered.
