Raxx in West Baton Rouge would be comparable, but nothing in Ascension and maybe the daiquiri bar in Livingston on magnolia bridge road. That’s about it.

It's simple: if you want to get laid and meet girls, you go to a club. If you've already got a girl, or just want to hang out with friends and have conversations, you go to a pub. Why? Because the music at the club is too loud to have a conversation. And besides, if you have charisma, it's not like it's impossible to get laid at the pub, and most of the clubs have shitty overpriced drinks compared to the pubs. It's easy to see why their appeal has waxed why that of clubs has waned.

What are you expecting, a CYO dance with a swamp pop band? A John Travolta-style disco club? A 1930's swing joint? 20 year-old's (read 18-30 year old women) don't want that. They want to grind to some boosie and get shiitfaced with their besties so they have an excuse for the bad decisions they're about to make with the frat boy swoop with a coke problem driving his dad's 15 year old BMW.

It might be a generational thing.. Before I was old enough to go to bars (when I was in HS), it seemed like just about every weekend someone was having a party (people who lived just outside of town that had room for parking.. Everyone would go there, hang out outside, drink, play music, etc). On weekends there were not parties, a group of us would still go out.. Ride around, find something to get into.. Drink, but we were always into something... A lot of times we were up to no good, but what do teenagers do these days?

That was extremely descriptive. What I’m talking about is what the OP would call dancing. Those aren’t really dance joints.
