What does it take to total an 04 Yukon

Some jackass pulled out in front of me and smashed the front/driver side of my truck. I don't know if there's any structural damage but the fender/front end/hood will definitely need to be replaced
To top it off he has some flight by night local insurance who has no claims number to call and office hours 9-5 M-F
Luckily there were plenty of witnesses and the cops said he was definitely at fault
I'm hoping at this point this truck is just totaled because I'm sure the accident will destroy what little resale it still had

Well my question would first be, what part of the other guys car did you hit?
Because if you ran into the back of the guy, it's your fault.
If not, then how much is the cost to fix the vehicle versus what is it worth.
What it's worth is not emotional value either. It's the actual value of the vehicle.

Lol your 04 Yukon had virtually no resale value before the accident. It's a 12 year old vehicle.
Get a new vehicle cheapo

He side swiped me. Police already filed the claim and it's his fault.
I have no emotional value. I'm hoping it is totaled so I can just move on

That was kind of his point, genius.

Around 70 to 75 percent of value in damage should total it.

Total loss is when repairs exceed 75% of the value of vehicle.

Cop pulled out in front of my 03 tundra. Just found out it is totaled. My air bag did not go off, but from what I hear, if the air bag goes off, it is a sure thing.
Eta. Im sure yours is totaled. Mine was still worth 7k at least blue book

Most likely totaled.
My sister had the exact vehicle, and someone plowed into the drivers side door. Smashed the door and the lower door frame (or whatever it's called) and they totaled it.
Gave her like $9500 and my dad had bought it at aution for $4000.

161,000. It has every available option, not that that it makes much difference with this age vehicle I'm sure

Yeah, I had been planning on getting a new vehicle this summer when I finish residency. I'll just have to move that up a few months

Im pretty sure with 161k that its totaled.. even if its not and they fix it it wont change your trade in value much if any

I had a front wheel bear ring break causing 10k in damage on my 07 Yukon. GEICO totaled it out and cut me a check for $9,800.
Not bad for an SUV with 300k miles!
