That's a different argument.

and not a good one

I believe there are less than 15 people in the world that can currently go through fall camp and play QB in the NFL

look at how many dual sport athletes end up back in college after a failed stint in the pros, look at a guy like Charlie Ward, Heisman winner in fb, not even drafted iirc, given a look by NBA without success, those are some pretty elite athletes that have pro careers

What does it say about ancient Rome that gladiators were paid? And guess what, the better the gladiator was a gladiating, the more money he made.

I don't think people realize how great you have to be at what you do to be in the NFL, NBA or MLB

I heard an interview with Orel Hershiezer (sp) once where he said “the worst player on the worst team in MLB is better than anyone you’ve ever been on a field with.”

Had this chick tell me she couldn't believe that we pay professional athletes millions of dollars and teachers barely make any money. Pretty sure she thinks there is just one big pot of money and the president decides who gets it.

It tells me that there is a very small number of people that can perform the tasks they get paid to perform

It's no different than paying actors, and actually the players work more and harder than hollytardos.

You can believe that auburn was a good team while at the same time believing that LSU was fortunate to beat them.

Truth. Guys barely hanging on a roster are still elite, by normal standards

It's not just athletes, its anyone with access to a market of hundreds of millions of people. Athletes, Celebs, Whores who then produce makeup, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, That guy in mexico with all the cell towers.. and it goes on. You can't blame the athlete for people paying to watch him bust his head for millions when all the other options seems so fruitless.

its a clear sign of how racially oppressed they are

the white man is keeping them down by forcing them to bare the burden of trying to survive on such crumbs

just the opposite, using the "white" elephant analogy, giving them something they are charged with caring for but lack the ability to do so

Of course the shitty ones were killed back then.
They literally would make "cuts" to their team roster!
