Have 2 actually. 17yo son and 15yo daughter. I couldn't imagine telling them to leave me alone all day, I'm going to curl up in a ball and do absolutely nothing. It would be my definition of hell honestly. To each his own I suppose.

Well mine are 4 and 2. So I can't wait for some peace and quiet.

Eta: I'm with them practically all day every day, a few hours off isn't like I'm moving to Antarctica lol

My wife loves giving gifts. She loves to surprise me and see the look on my face when I realize the amount of effort she’s put into her gift giving. For that reason alone I love it.

I love that for you. But I think most people - or maybe this is just me projecting - have family that wants a list and then buys from that list.

I don’t say that critically about them. I’m the same way. I have a hard time thinking about what gift someone might want or something that sparks joy in their life. If I’m buying presents, I want a list.

I love buying gifts but the husband usually has something specific he wants. I wish he’d let me do my thing and surprise him.

The first year we were married, I asked my wife what she wanted for mothers day. She said, "I'm not your mother." After 30 years she lets me take her out to eat, but always stressed me to treat my mom and not her.

ETA: wife was nice enough to give me whatever virus she had all week. So I got that going for me too.
Thoughtful gifts are the best.

j/k - get even. Give her a UTI.

A blowjob. I’ll give you a hint: it won’t be the Father’s Day I wanted

Spend some time reflecting on my dad who is no longer here. Spend the morning / early afternoon with my son, have a good brunch let the world slow down for a bit.

Including my father in law this year as he is aging and it’s important to me as well as my wife.

After that spend the afternoon watching golf , grab a little nap a drink are two in peace and quiet. Steak and potato for dinner!

End the day with a happy ending.

Yep. I told my wife I was hopefully going to play golf with some friends for Father's day. She had no idea.
