Has the shell convent refinery been bought? I see people there but it’s not running. Its crazy somebody hasnt bought it and restarted it

This is pretty accurate. Either you get a slightly higher salary or slightly better benefits. It all equals out in the end. And don’t get fooled by the guys that say they make 175-185k a year. It is possible but you will have to work ALOT of overtime.

I haven't made under $175 in 10 years except the one year I took 3 months STD. It's definitely the OT that causes it, but most of the time you don't really have a choice.

That $175k includes annual bonus too which is usually 8k-12k range.

There are chemical plant assets (eg, ethylene) in the refinery. Not just west site assets.
