This won't be of much help, but I have the 2011 Genesis coupe and I love it.
ETA: Granted, it was way cheaper than the four door. Idk if I'd spend that much on it. But Hyundai is making some solid cars right now.

I was excited to try it but was immediately shocked at the noise. Dunno if their larger SUV, the Sante Fe has the same issue.
Wife has a 2013 Santa Fe Limited it is very quiet, she had the 2011 Santa Fe, and it was a little noisy, they have improved it greatly. All the other aspects of the cars are fantastic, she previously had a BMW and Volvo and it is great to have a maintenance schedule that consists of changing the oil.

I'm generally not a fan of coupes, but the coupes actually look better imo.

I believe in a literal interpretation of it.

I took the leap to Hyundai with my last purchase of a 2013 Santa Fe Limited. It's the new body with the longer wheelbase.
So far, it's been fantastic. Mine is the loaded out Limited and I've gotten nothing but compliments from passengers. I'm coming from Volvo and Audi, and the quality and luxuriousness of the Santa Fe is just as good.
The new Genesis is definitely on my short list in a couple of years once it's time for our other car to go. Even the new Sonata in top trim is a contender.

They have changed the perception of their company in about 15 years from cheap to reliable. Why can't the American car manufacturers work on doing this?

I've read good things about the new design and how much it has improved over the prior years models.

Exactly. If he is spending 50k why not get a Sierra, which is what he wants?

My buddy (cheater Andy) thinks its absurd to spend $50k on a Hyundai.

You and I are alike in that regard.

Nice, but I'm not sure I'd drop 40k on a Hyundai just yet.

They are. We just scrutinize them more vs. imports for some reason.

My in laws have one. Nice car. It's got all the bells and whistles on the inside. But you can't just say that Hyundai has started putting out 50k prince range quality vehicles because they look nice. We're going to need about 8-10 years to know if these cars are built well. I'll spend 50k on a Chevy or a Ford truck because I have experience knowing they can easily last for 10+ years and hold their value. I don't know what the future holds for these cars.

Is a Hyundai ever really worth more than 10K?
Just can't shake the stigma.

If I got one this is the one I would get.

I can understand this.their initial products were crap.
