Bought my 2006 Sonata brand new and it hasn't given me much trouble at all. Just went over 100,000 and will buy one more set of tires before I'm done with it. That should get me to about 170,000.

I will say this: recently rented a Hyundai Tuscon on a trip and it was rather underwhelming. Poor ride and very noisy.

Yep that's up there. But a comparable LS Lexus is what 70-80k?

I like it. It looks nice. Can you negotiate the price or is it sticker price or leave it? I thought some of the manufacturers were going to this pricing model.

I can't stand a noisy vehicle. If a vehicle is noisy, I can't hold a conversation on the highway or interstate.

Probably. I don't know. I like Hyundais, but I'm not the type to drop $50+K on a vehicle.

I like the Santa Fe because it's supposedly the safest vehicle in its class.

I was excited to try it but was immediately shocked at the noise. Dunno if their larger SUV, the Sante Fe has the same issue.

I feel like every vehicle I've owned has been a noisy one. That's definitely changing the next time I purchase a vehicle.

I have an Acura and it's loud a shite too.

My mother just got a brand new Acura MDX (?). It's quiet to me (I think).

Unfortunately, true luxury cars are the ones with least road noise.
I have however been very impressed with how quiet my F-150 is.

Welp, Mercedes S-class AMG, here I come.

I have a want for a King Ranch.

I went from a Z71 to a TSX (V-6). It's small but is pretty damn quick. It is just loud compared to my old big truck.

There is a video floating around of a demonstration of the Genesis adaptive drive ( I think that is what it is called...) feature in action. You really need to see it to believe it. You may find it on youtube..

Stay far away from it until realistic data can be provided by Consumer Reports or JDPower on the reliability of the car.
My parents bought the previous generation Genesis. It was a nice car for about 35,000 miles before it started falling apart. It had a lot of problems, and left them on the side of the road many times. Most of them were related to a series of recurring electrical problems, but it stranded my mother at least once because of a cracked radiator.
The dealership was unable to solve most of the issues. A lot of customers had the same problems. The company took years to finally get around to recalling those cars.
It did have a powerful engine and handled very well. It's basically a knockoff Lexus LS for the price of the Camry-based Lexus ES.
I've heard good things about the new Sonatas, but I am pretty sour on the company and their products. I don't think they are up to the task of manufacturing and servicing/repairing more complicated vehicles.

They do. I know 3 people with Hyundai's and none of the cars have ever been in the shop

I owned a Hyundai Sonata a few years ago and it was probably my favorite car I've owned. I really like the Genesis. It's sleek and I think Hyundai does a good job with their vehicles.
