I pay $100 per month but my lot is only 6000 square feet. During the warmer months they come every week and during the colder months they come every other week.

An 18 pack of Budlite, I drink one every time I mow.

I live in Old Metairie and thus have not much of a yard (50 X 100 lot, standard in these 'burbs-- front yard and back are probably only about 1200 sq. ft. each).

Our long-time lawn man Mr. Breaux mows, edges/weed-eats, cleans and bags. He bills us $36 bucks per visit. He comes weekly from March to October when the grass grows like crazy; every other week during the winter.

We basically tip him an extra monthly bill at Christmas.

I still take care of the gardens, bushes and trees. When he retires, I'll probably buy a new lawnmower & weed-eater and go back to doing his job myself. I kind of miss it.

Exactly the way I feel. While I'm cutting, the noise of the mower drowns out everything else. Can't hear anyone bitching. When I get finished, if someone asks me to do something, my answer is "I just got finished cutting the grass, dammit. I having a couple beers."

Unless they are disabled, men should cut their own grass

$25 a cut but we have a small yard. It is still cheap, though. The dude is amazing and lives in our neighborhood and actually works for the HOA to keep up all the green spaces. It works out well because he is never hard to track down if we need him and I can just drop a check off to him when I walk the dog.

He will also charge by the month but we would rather pay by the cut since we don't need cuts from Dec-Mar usually.

I get that. That's basically why the gym is my sanctuary. Just replace the mower noise with headphones, and the lawn view with fit gals in yoga pants

$40

But I only pay someone to cut my yard during the high heat months. (End of July, Aug, Sept)

$25 to mow, edge, and weed eat. I pay him extra if I need things like bushes trimmed, mulch put down, or to put out fertilizer.

We only pay to have it sprayed.

Our lawn is not very big because we have large landscaped areas, and yard work is something we really enjoy doing together... Not to mention we're both pretty type-A.

Typically factors out to $1/min which also includes travel time from nearest previous location. I cut my own though.
