This is the actual statute. DCFS has a better chart but when i tried to link the URL was bad
you add up both incomes to get the total AGI
then use this chart to see what the total support obligation for that income is (the chart is based on # of children)
then you figure out the % breakdown of the parents
the non-custodial (doesn't have domiciliary status) parent pays their % of the total obligation
that's for the child support obligation. there are other potential expenses (daycare/education and health expenses are the 2 big areas). health insurance will be mandated if either parent's employment offers insurance (and if you go through the state they are 100% serious about this b/c the state wants kids off Medicaid)

Damn, I'd have to prepare my anus just for one kid. Mine is already almost a teenager and I have no plans on getting divorced.

I was paying $1100 a month for 2 kids. Now I have custody and she pays me.

Louisiana it’s a fixed rate based on his income vs her income and number of childern.

His rent is only $500 a month.

People should have to work through some possible scenarios with the child support worksheet when they are young.
Many may think twice about having kids in a less than ideal marriage once they see the price tag. Of course, some whores may get other ideas.

I pay just over 400 a month in child support for one kid. That doesn’t count extra expenses that we have to split but we both were given a percentage that we pay that was factored by the court. In total I probably pay around 550 a month. Neither of us are OT ballers by any means. Middle to lower middle class incomes.

Jesus. Is your ex unemployed? This amount on the schedule is tied to a $19,000/mo combined salary. And if it were combined income, it would be split between y’all. I feel like you’re getting mega fricked. Or you’re an OT baller.

If I did the calculation correctly mine would be like $1300 per month for one kid.
Posted on 3/10/19 at 9:51 am to fallguy_1978
Did you combine salaries & calculate only your percentage? The chart indicates total combined amount for the kid. Then you are responsible for a percentage of that. They may have a combined income of $500k, but if that’s the case, $1600/mo isn’t too painful.

That has me closer to 1k. That probably doesn't include 50% of tuition and aftercare either which would be another $600-700. Cheaper to keep her

Income is assumed once the child is 4, even if the woman doesn’t work. The noncustodial parent covers the full brunt until then, if the other party doesn’t work. Once the child turns 4, based on potential earnings of the custodial parent, the income assignment order is recalculated.
My ex wife refused to work until then as a way to further stick it to me. I know this shite by heart, lol.

1900 per month for one kid. Was even more when there were 3. High point was probably around 2600 per month. I carry all 3 kids on my medical and pay 65% out of pocket expenses. It is what it is.

No I just got so tired of my ex but with her new job, she makes about 6k less than I make.
I’ll bend over backwards for my daughter regardless.
But frick la state taxes, I’ll be moving back to Texas at some point to be closer to my kiddo. I gotta get back on my feet first though

This is one of my best friends in Alabama:
- She has custody and he gets every other weekend, some holdiays, etc..
- $5650 for Alimony and Child support for 2 kids
- One just started college so the support just dropped $700(?)
- Alimony goes down a little each year $500(?)
His atttorney said he got a fair to good deal because he was off the scale that the state uses. They also did one of those all day arbitration meetings and his ex just wanted to GTFO by the end of the day..

Price tag is a HUGE reason why I don’t have kids and are extra careful when slaying sloots

LoL...I pay $7500/mo for 2 kids.

I make approx 70k a year she now makes 61-62k. I’m most likely expecting a significant pay raise next year
I was tired of hearing her sociopathic/psychotic shite.
she somehow has become a better mom due to our divorce bc she now has to get off her arse. When we were married she sat on her arse and I did everything but I gladly done so bc I love being interactive with our kiddo
