I have a friend that considers everything inside the beltway "downtown."

She's a moron, too.

610 was the only loop in Houston for decades.

Beltway 8 was completed in the last 5 or 6 years so it was not a "loop".

"Inside the loop" is known inside of 610 by people in both residential and commercial real estate.

You do realize half of Houston is from Louisiana or so it seems. Many are taking advantage of higher pay, no state income tax, amazing schools, cheap electric, car insurance half what it is in Louisiana, cheaper house insurance, and in general for suburbs of Houston more bang for your buck in housing market.

Yeah and I’m one of those people but there’s still an inordinate amount of houston chatter lately
