Traffic matters when you live far from your work. I am lucky that I live in Smyrna and work from home unless I need to fly out and I rarely deal with traffic. My wife works at Home Depot HQ and gets too and from work in 15 mins.

Should be zero reason to have to move from the city because of traffic unless it’s impossible to have your spouse and yourself living near work. If you are single then there is zero reason to state traffic as a reason to leave.

I was in a unique situation. My wife worked(she now tele commutes from home) in Alpharetta. I commuted to the airport(fricking miserable) to fly for a regional airline based in Atlanta.

Mid to late 90’s Atlanta was awesome, especially before during and after Olympics. Back then Buckhead was safe and lots of fun. I think the Great Recession of 2008 hurt Atlanta’s growth and development.

Also, the metro population was more bearable back then (2.5 - 3 million) now it’s over 5 million. Too big compared to 20-25 years ago.

Understandable although I would take the train every time when I lived in Brookhaven and loved the convenience. North springs isn’t too bad but 400 can suck if you can’t plan your own travel time.

I'm not a falcons fan so your insult falls flat.

It falls flat anyway. I’d rather live here with crappy sports teams than Nola with a SB every year.

There are other reasons to live other than football.

Why do so many simpletons think living in Atlanta equals being a Falcons fan? A saints fan can move to Atlanta and remain a saints fan.

Lived there for 14 years, now live in Austin...

Would move back to Atlanta tomorrow if all things were equal.

Atlanta is a great place to live. Booming economy, relatively cost of living compared to other large cities. Always a ton to do as far as concerts, festivals and outdoor activities go. Close to mountains, beaches, lakes, etc.

The growth right now is RIDICULOUS all over the city. Development new construction for housing, retail, road additions and office space everywhere.

Went to a sports bar and it was 99.9% Saints fans. With live band, 2nd line you would have thought you were in the French Quarter. Boy did they party!

I did take MARTA more than a few times. Trouble was I still had to deal with ~5 miles of 400. It was super nice pulling right into the terminal though.

If you live in a nice suburb, you can get a great house for your money plus a top notch grade through high school education. Plus the Hope Scholarship to pay for college. Airport is fantastic for traveling anywhere in the world. Major corporations either have their HQ there or are expanding their SE operations.
