Some of them kill themselves or die thru intentional self neglect. The over 65 demographic is the fastest growing rate for suicide.

If they’re eating Purina, they’re doing okay. But if you see Ol’ Roy in the cupboard, maybe slip them a few bucks.

As someone thar has a dog and a cat, I can confirm that is an internet rumor because dog and cat food is actually kind of expensive.

Seems like living off of peanut butter and jelly or Spam would be cheaper.

My dad admits to trying it.. he was a single income airmen with three kids a wife and a dog.. he fried some up.. said it looked better than tasted.. only tried it once… he loved pulling KP duty cause he knew we were eating good..

Sir Winston’s (RIP, little buddy) sitter was a 70-something lady who charged $65 per night to stay in our home. She’s almost always booked. Heard she’s charging $80 per night now. worth every penny to have an older dog able to stay in his own home.

I work in the banking industry now after retiring from LE. Take my advice and start planning for your retirement years. It is a cruel world for those who haven’t planned for the golden years

My parents are elderly and still working fulltime jobs. They pissed all of their money away and refuse to change their lifestyle. I don't complain because you can't teach old dogs new tricks and going to work keeps them physically active and socially engaged. If they were crammed into a senior apartment penching social security pennies they would probably wither away and die within a year.

My mom lived with us for a while, but then she moved into one of those income based old folks homes. She didn’t want any help from my siblings and I

Honest question: Is cat food and dog food really cheaper than say peanut butter, tuna fish, ramen, bread, baloney and stuff like that? Cause why would people go to pet foods if they could get human food, albeit poor quality?

I think pet food more efficiently gets you good protein and fat bang for your buck but yah I’d just do Vienna sausages and ramen instead
