Hate to hear that but good you’re on the mends. Very odd how there are a handful of pretty healthy people like you who are getting totally crushed. Most of the young “healthy” people that are dying near me now are way overweight. I feel badly for these people but just because they’re 34 they can’t escape a BMI of 35+.
I will say I know some pregnant women who have had some difficult experiences with this last wave. That’s a scary spot for pregnant women.

I think my immune system has just been doing it's job. I've been exposed to people who were positive numerous times and I probably take the least precautions of anyone I know. I'm in healthcare, but not on the clinical side. I do work directly with them though and have been in the same room as positive patients far more times than I can count. Usually as soon as the patient is gone, I take my mask off.
I can't say if it's just been luck, or if acute exposures have helped build my immune system.
That said, I now have a 3 week old baby and am being more cautious. I just returned to work today.

Was wondering when this thread would make the OT. My wife owns a retail business and never shut down. She’s only been off work for about two weeks since all this started. Never had it.
My work shut down, but we’ve been going out more to eat and drink than we did before. I’ve never had it. I donate blood once a quarter and test negative for antibodies every time.
I’ve never had the flu and my wife hasn’t either. Both of my 20ish kids had COVID.

When I was in ICU there was a 30 something on a vent as well as a dude in his 20's. Right now my wife has 2 friends she teaches with husbands who are about my age (49) that are on vents as well. One I kind of half way know because oddly enough he used to come into the gym I train at (or used to train at). He isn't in great shape but not a fat arse either. He has been on a vent for going on 17 days. I kinda doubt he is going to make it.
With this Delta Strain, there is no boiler plate reason who it is going to get and more so, how bad it is going to knock you down. For some, it is nothing more than the flu, maybe a little worse. For me, I was in the hospital for 3 weeks. Before, it was if you were overweight, older, or had an underlying condition. Not anymore.

Have no idea if I had it or not?
This - I think as we saw with athletes when testing was mandatory - most of them had it but had no symptoms and would never have know if not mandated to test.
I don't think there is any way to accurately tell how many more in this country had it and never knew because there were no symptoms.
And if that's the case than the percentages of deaths and hospitalizations vs. cases is even lower than listed.

Daily vitamins and sunshine.
I’m not around a lot of people often, though my wife is (teacher).
Aside from doctor visits, about the only time I leave the house is to go out to eat around once a week.
And Visions. At least a dozen trips to Visions in the Covid era. Including 6 weeks straight during the delta variant explosion.
But everyone knows you can’t catch diseases at Visions.
