A colossal, insufferable prick. Forgot all about that sack of shite.

Many would agree with you. But you didn’t call in a complaint to the governor.

If you had Devlin praising Justice Brennan and Baker pumping up Rehnquist and pissing on Brennan, you learned. That’s how it’s supposed to be. That’s the real world.

This shite going on with Landry getting involved is sickening.

May his batshit insane soul Rest in Peace. Dude was a total weirdo. But he knew his shite. I argued with him often in class, but Con Law 2 was my best grade in law school.

I had Baier for a con law seminar class. Most of our grade was based on a paper. Baier comes into class the first week and tells me that he thinks X topic would be a great topic for my paper. I did as told and got a 87 or 88 on the old 89-point scale. Dumbasses in the class battled with Baier about their paper topic. All Baier wanted was an audience to listen to his stories about Dean Griswold and Justice Black.

Hey how is Landrys 10 commandments law going ?

No idea, haven’t been following it. Don’t care much.
You’ve probably been sky screaming about it every hour though. Hope you stroke out soon.

I loved both Baier and Princess Barbara. I was fortunate enough to have a last good convo with him shortly before he passed when we ran into them both at Eliza. Truly a one of a kind guy, love him or hate him.

Don’t know the guy but noticed this.

Then saw this.

Sounds like BR’s white guilt collective of rich dems covering for their own. If David Manship joins in then this dude is really cooked

And no one ever dropped a dime on Baker or Devlin or anyone else.

One of two things are true.

Devlin has completely changed since you were in law school. A complete 180 or…

You are an absolute moron who doesn’t know the difference between conservative and liberal principles. Devlin never had a positive thing to say about a Scalia, Thomas, or any other conservative justices opinions in the entire Con Law course.

Pretty much without exception, law school exams can be navigated without espousing any political view whatsoever. Only a huge retard would inject any political opinion into an exam like that.

I think the world is much more politicized now than when some of yall were in school. That has trickled down to the law school. Diamond’s 1L crim law exam was one question laying out the specifics of January 6th. It asked what crimes were committed that day including by Donald trump. The guy who got the cali told me he just wrote down every single crime he could think of and claimed trump was guilty of it. And that is not even the most politicized exam I took at law school.

It may seem like I’m bitching about the professors at LSU law but I personally liked every professor I had. They were nice, helpful, and encouraging. I do wish that the environment did not create such a one sided echo chamber politically though

What did he say to get investigated? Was his ordinary curriculum not enough?

Eh. There’s a difference between debating judicial decisions and making stupid declaratory statements about political affiliations or people’s voting preferences.

Again—the issue isn’t the profanities or that someone has a different political view. It’s student are paying tuition, and taxpayers are funding a school, with the purpose of teaching the law. The purpose isn’t to allow some professor waste everyone’s time with their political viewpoints.

I say that as someone who thoroughly enjoyed most of my law school experience, and who dislikes Landry’s bullshite. Although I admittedly hate what has happened to the law school since Weiss got run out of town on a rail.

Baier was great. Marched to the beat of his own drum but if you displayed moderate interest in class and studied you would be fine. I don't think a class ever went by when he didn't mention either the fact that he went to Harvard Law School, or Col. Frederick Bernays Wiener, another HLS grad who was the only lawyer ever to win at the SCOTUS on a rehearing.

His leadership was the last time LSU was nationally respected as a law school IMO. A great educator, kind to his students, and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Imagine a Harvard educated Jew who practiced for a considerable amount of time in NYC being considered “too conservative”. That tells you just how far left the echo chamber is at the school. Galligan couldn’t hold Jack Weiss’s jockstrap or his badass tiger striped blazer.

Tom Galligan is not a guy to talk bad on- he took over a complete nightmare from F.King Alexander and kept it afloat during Covid, allowed LSU to have in person classes when many places wouldn’t. He never signed up for any of it- got placed in an interim role and rose to the occasion.

There was a ton with Weiss that had nothing to do with politics, at least if the left/right kind. A lot of the diversity shite got piggybacked on and gave the powers that be a convenient pretext.

Weiss was great for the law center. But certain factions didn't want him to modernize the school and make it nationally competitive. Really was a shame what happened to him.

I forgot about Col. Weiner. Baier was a memorable professor, that’s for certain. I still have my pocket constitutionalist somewhere.
