People are people no matter where they live. They usually respond to generosity in a likewise manner. In my humble opinion as long as you don't run around yelling "Merica frick yeah!", most people will treat you kindly or at worst indifferently.

I have a very close Iranian friend. He no longer lives in Iran though. So there is at least one.

I knew a kid in high school that was from Pakistan...used to go on and on about how much he and his family hated America and how when all the children graduated college the family was going back to Pakistan. We went to a private school. He did not have an enjoyable experience. "Bullying" wasn't a thing anyone worried about then. Him running his mouth probably didn't help much though.

I know a few. It is probably the Middle Eastern country that I've met the most of people that are ok. Maybe I just had a biased sample population, but Iranians tend to be more well educated compared to the majority of the region.

I had a college friend from Iran. His family fled after the shah was deposed. They had very favorable feelings about the US even before they came. He was a bright guy and good people fwiw

Yeah, I know they've got a fricked up nuclear program, but Iranians tend to be pretty sane for the most part. At least the ones I've run into. There were no major hostilities between the Iranians and Americans in Beijing, and about a million foreigners live in that city, so you tend to know pretty immediately what groups don't get along. Hell, I think the Russians were more hostile towards us than the Iranians.

A client of mine is Iranian. Very nice and good hearted person. He says Iran is very different than what we perceive and is not like some of the other countries in the region. He hates hates Islam, although his wife is Muslim ironically.
He absolutely despises Saudi Arabia though

I guess I'm partial because most I met tried to kill me. One of my best friends is Iraqi he is so nice it's sometimes scary. Sob's girlfriend is smoking like OT 8 and a RN at women's and children's.

The flag I saw the most in France was the American flag. It's on clothes, cell phone covers, purses, etc. I saw it more than I do here in the states.

Not in my experience but it's been a while.
The only anti-American sentiment I've come across was in Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands. Some Europeans can be true condescending snots when they put their minds to it but fortunately it really is a small minority.
