Doesn't really have anything to do with this thread, but FedEx was actually founded in Arkansas. If not for poor-sighted Little Rock politicians, it would still be headquartered there. Same reason LR missed out on being the home of UA.

Memphis has more Fortune 1000 companies HQ-ed there than all of east TN (also has just 1 shy of LA, MS and AL combined). That doesn't include St. Jude and ALSAC. There's plenty of economic opportunity, low cost of living, no state income tax, a competent mayor and city council (for a change), good food, and an NBA team...But there are some neighborhoods (that you never have to go to) with po black folks. The horror!
