None. It's sad and it sucks, but it affects my life 0.

Odd as it may sound, Bill Paxton. Chet and Private Hudson were formative years.
Sargent Ferrell is one of my favorite characters in film.

Anthony Bourdain for me. I was getting ready to leave North America for the first time and had been watching a bunch of his tv shows when he went.

The fact that entertainers deaths cause such an uproar in the country shows just how screwed up our values have become.

Im sorry but this take is so stupid and makes you look like a try-hard.
How dare people have role models or look to other humans for inspiration.

yeah the people who do the whole, "oh I've never been affected by the death of a person I didn't know" shtick are either

A: lying (most likely)

or

B: so autistic that they are unable to form the brain synapses necessary to experience human empathy

people don't understand that emotional intelligence does not negate regular intelligence. in fact, they're completely intertwined

George Michael got me; I still think what a waste of talent given how his attitude of life changed over his last years. He would still be alive today if he really took care of himself to live a healthy lifestyle.

Still a fan, still listening to his music. RIP George.

I think it's more a difference in perception of the word "impact" in the question. Even just taking a momentary pause in your life to reflect on someone's passing qualifies as that death impacting you. I don't doubt there are people that post here that are callous enough to have no reaction to the death of a celebrity whose work they've enjoyed, but I think some are just taking "impact" to mean fully mourning the death. It's part of the internet tough guy persona some people are so caught up in on this site.

imagine, theoretically of course, if it were possible for a human to feel both empathy for the death of a celebrity AND all the natural emotions associated with close personal friends and family

can you even fathom it
