I don't doubt that. I went through 2 Ryobi batteries in like 6 motnhs and decided on Ridgid simply for the battery aspect of the LSA. I haven't had to use it yet and I've had my drk for about 3 years now.

Makita - many tools are more compact than others but have good power and reliability. Assembled in GA which keeps someone here employed.
Milwaukee - good & reliable.

Milwaukee should change their name to Beijing. 100% of their power tools are made in China. I roll with Ryobi and Dewalt. Even with Dewalt, most of the tools are made overseas, but I now just try to find a tool not made in China when im buying a new one.

Milwaukee is best bang for your buck.

My brand loyalty went out the window when I realized that most tools are owned by 2 or 3 umbrella companies and are usually manufactured by the lowest bidder.
Outside of commercial grade tools, there's not a whole lot if difference in major brands.

Makita and Hilti are alone amoung the big boys.
A few other small players like Fein.
I use Festool and Makita for everything except a Bosch Sander and a Fein Oscillating tool.

Milwaukee brand
This. I have an 18v Milwaukee drill. Powerful enough to rip a door off it's hinges.

Milwaukee. Dewalt has gone downhill big time over the past few years. Will never buy from them again

Old corded stuff, Milwaukee. I have drills 40 years old that
work fine. I seldom use them though since cordless came
around. Dewalt is what I have and use for the most part as
far as cordless.

Makita, mostly.
I have some of a lot of brands because of random gifts and sales over the years. I prefer the 18v Makitas in most cases. They’re just super ergonomic/easy to use and are built like tanks. Seems like they put a ton of thought into how their tools will be used - they are Japanese.
Makita and Milwaukee are in the same tier even though I prefer Makita. The dewalt seems like a slight step down and then the Ryobi below that and black and decker is at the bottom yet surprisingly decent for the price.

Old corded stuff,
I was just thinking this thread could be split into corded and cordless. I have some of the old Craftsman corded tools that were well made back then and are still perform quite well today.
I don't have any Craftsman cordless stuff.

Dewalt and Ryobi. I have a combo of both

Festool are just pure pleasure to work with.
Otherwise, I have Milwaukee drills/drivers I like a lot.
Makita sanders, Klein electrical hand tools and a few Bosch power tools.

Old Milwaukee was the shiznit in the day, Craftsman was great too back in the day. Alas, times have changed. Those old boys I learned from wouldn't know how to act with all this cordless crap and Philips screw heads!

Makita. And their outdoor power equipment stuff (gas and cordless) is the best kept secret in the industry.

Started off with Rigid and switched to the Dewalt XR line maybe 5 years ago.
