I'd be embarrassed to know what brand of jeans I wore.

OP probably looking for something more along these lines, unfortunately.
I think we're all probably looking for that.

Did they have the button fly?
Button fly jeans are the best jeans ever made.
Real men have buttons, not zippers.

Buy the size you normally wear. They're a bit bigger in the waist than I'd like, and can be a little long depending on what kind of shoe you wear. I wear some sort of boot (Palladium, Goruck, etc.) whenever I'm wearing jeans. They're honestly more comfortable than the shorts I normally wear because of the stretch. Amazeballs. When they said you could do BJJ in them, they weren't kidding. If they had cargo pockets I'd wear 'em to travel.
I suggest you don't over correct on length, just take them to the dry cleaner and get them hemmed if need be. I downsized to try and fix the waist problem, but then it was like they were painted on my thighs (which are not small.) They were perfectly comfortable, but not the right look for a dude like me.
BTW, their website says it's weeks to ship, but I ordered two more pairs last week, and it looks like they'll be delivered tomorrow.
The stonewash is a bit light, but the dark and the medium washes are legit. I suggest the dark and the medium first, but you won't be able to wear really dark shirts with anything but the stonewash.
ETA: Link to Delta68s.

As you get older there is no fixing the waist problem. It just gets higher and higher with age

Wranglers from Walmart - still $25 each and hold up for years of daily use.

Idk. For me it sounds effeminate, but I don’t really think it’s effeminate for others
