Guess I've been lucky. Never felt that way. Even with sleepless nights as a baby and worry when he's out driving himself.

The mental leaps some of you people make are frankly astounding.

If that was sarcasm my bad, but your comments aren’t extremely far off from others on here so sometimes it’s hard to tell.

You really don't understand the purpose of parenthood for the vast majority of human history, do you?
Most species abandon their children at birth. Some stick with them through adolescence. We nurse ours into to adulthood because, anthropologically, we needed their labor, and that trains them to return the favor when we get old.
Other more rational species just let the old go off and die.

Also, i will say that some of the most solid middle-aged couples i know are the ones who have been married for years but never had kids. They don’t seem selfish to me, because they take care of each other. They are the most important people to each other and they’ve grown together as people without kids to distract them. Some couples with kids focus only on the kids and grow apart.

Jesus of Nazareth--by all contemporary accounts arguably the most righteous and selfless person in the history of the world--had no children.

Someone clearly hasn’t seen The Da Vinci Code.

thoughts on people who never have children?
They never figure out the true meaning of life.

It’s because she’s French. Can never trust the French.

Wait. You’re telling me the largest philosophical question that mankind has pondered for hundreds if not thousands of years, can be answered with the simple answer of having children - something that has been done for as long as our species has existed?
Christ man, get over yourself and congrats on the unprotected sex.

Nothing, sometime people are unable to and are heartbroken about it. Don’t judge.

I think people who have kids take every brief moment of envy from their non-friend kids the same way. The difference is they can decide to have kids (assuming biology favors them). You can't now decide to not have them.
Very few people saying, "man, you've got it made" to the guy with kids really wishes he did have kids/a family. Because literally none of them say that.
I guess?
Ultimately I don't really care if guys who don't have kids are jealous/not jealous of those of us who do. I don't really identify with them. Guys are fully capable of being happy without kids, and that doesn't bother me. Granted, I think a lot of them drift later in life and struggle to find stability/identity, but I think that's the product of the personality that led them to not seek out a family in the first place, not the not having a family part.
Women are different. I think the large majority that don't have kids (purposefully) have nagging doubts or subconscious issues over it.

Kids are joy, tiring, fun, maddening
But I can’t imagine not having children. So many priceless memories and joy (Santa, Easter bunny, Halloween), that extended my childhood because of them.
We never grow up, just get older. I’m glad I’ll have a house full of loud grown kids and grand children during holidays when I’m older.

Good Luck My Brother: Contentment is generally defined as a longer lasting, but a deeper feeling of satisfaction and gratitude.
