Except that’s not the intent at all.
The artist, Takashi Murakami, is a Japanese artist known for his “pop” twist on his art. He has also done this with Buddhist iconography, traditional Japanese iconography, art in relation to Hiroshima, etc. A lot of his stuff is influenced by manga and anime.
Dude did the artwork for Kanye’s Graduation album.
He’s not out to get Christians or anything. That’s just what his art looks like.

Considering it is really hard to distinguish what is going on other than Christ on a cross, but clearly there is more going on there that is unusual and cartoonish, he seems to be using His image to promote himself, rather than Christ.
Nothing really to be offended by but it is certainly strange. Honestly my first thought looking at it is intrigue to the other messages going on as they aren’t immediately clear. But, they may be clear to others and thus clearly disrespectful.
And let’s not forget that when Muslims get upset about things like this, they kill people.

I'm not saying he is, and also don't care if he is or isn't. Just saying, when you are depicting a figure like Christ, you can't be a fool about it or play dumb when you make him look that way. That's all. I think it's taking a figure like Christ very lightly and trivializing it. Which is ok. I don't care if they do. Just saying, it's a mockery of him even if the intent was to piss people off or not.

That rendering of Jesus is yellow (Asian) so not much different than when we see a blonde hair / blue eye Jesus. I just want to see a brown Mexican baby Jesus because we see those today in real life.
