I don't understand how anyone who lives in Louisana, Mississippi, Alabama, or Tennessee could actually think that Atlanta is an unpleasent place to live.
Maybe they don't love big cities.

That's every big city.

Fair. But that is offset by the great number of in-town neighborhoods.
quote:. again, not to the level of BR and ATL. and atl is significantly worse than BR in this dept.
Again, that's every big city
quote:so you admit it sucks? this is what people say when a downtown sucks.
Downtown has got a lot better

I get this but Atlanta shvts on Nashville, Birmingham, and Jackson.

I enjoyed my time in downtown ATL. Not as much to do as I would've thought but fairly nice as far as downtown areas in larger Southern cities go.

Its way out in the burbs but I loved living in Lawrenceville. Everything you could ever want is all right there

Atlanta is significantly bigger so you can't really compare them. Some people prefer medium sized cities. Also, Nashville seems much safer to me than Atlanta. I agree that Birmingham and Jackson are shitholes outside of the suburbs.

Every suburb in Atlanta is not a big city
Atlanta has probably the nicest little city suburbs in the country with all the big city stuff 30-45 minutes away
Big city stuff like professional sports teams, college sports teams, great nightlife, great restaurants, great concerts and festivals almost every week, amusement parks, etc. the list can go on and on

The majority on this website shite on it because of the dumb Saints/falcons rivalry

Most prominent city in the South, sorry Nashville, Charlotte, New Orleans…it’s true.
It’s a major city with some really nice areas and really bad areas. It offers everything. If you can’t enjoy it, you’re either poor, hate bigger metropolitan cities or just miserable in general.

People actually live “in Nashville.” People, smart ones at least, don’t live “in Atlanta.”

The only other city in the United States that has ever hosted the Olympic Summer games is Los Angeles
But yea, Atlanta is a shithole. Give me a break

I hate it. We are moving back to Montana when the nest goes empty

Why’d you leave in the first place? Money? Better jobs, schools, more opportunities?

Work and family. My wife and I met at UGA and wanted to be close to parents when we had the little ones, so it was right to move back at the time.

Atlanta is far from perfect but if you live in the right area(s) it can be incredible. This goes for both in the city and the suburbs. Most the people that shite on Atlanta haven’t been here recently. It’s not 1990 city of Atlanta anymore I can assure you of that. Things have drastically changed.

I made Atlanta a small town for my 21 years there. TDS made living in the Decatur area tough. Then COVID plus having kids (late in life for having kids) = bye bye frickers. Also I’ve worked from home mostly since 2005 and my wife went virtual then quit, and most of our friends and family had left town.
But ultimately it took COVID and the manufactured race and woke crap to get us over the hump to leave. It’s like most places, with the right strategy and some career flexibility (and/or money) you can make it nice. We loved our actual neighborhood, despite the yard signs and bumper stickers.

This is bs, most of the pro Nashville people on here live in fricking Williamson county/Brentioch or Murfreesboro

Spent about a decade living in the city of Atlanta (including as a homeowner) and never had a problem.

One of the worst cities in the country.
Bad traffic, high crime, woke, not really much in terms of culture. Just shitty
