I don't disagree. We have a Ridgeback and 2 Catahoulas. They're all awesome dogs, but damn that Ridgeback is a specimen!

Great Dane

I love all labs as well, but for me personally I just love the Danes.

Of course the only worthless breeds are those little yappy shits , I'm sorry but if the average house cat can kick your arse and all you do is yip yip yip all day and night are you really a dog at all?

My mother has a blue heeler. They are certainly energetic dogs, but as a herding breed, they are bred that way. They are extremely smart, loyal dogs though.

I have a Great Pyrenees. He's pretty low key. His day usually consists of laying flat on the hardwood floor or chewing on a rawhide bone. He likes to go outside now that it's cold, but he really doesn't run much. Every now and then if the mood hits him, he will fetch a ball for a few minutes, but he's not crazy about it at all.

We had a basset hound for 16 years. At first I was opposed to the idea, but the kids wanted it and I gave in. That was the best dog we ever had. No howling, no stink, absolutely great with other people yet very protective. I do admit I miss that dog.

Are you sure it was a basset hound?

I questioned it from time to time for other reasons too! But yeah, those long ears, short legs and sad face kinda confirmed it.

I have a chocolate lab she will wear you out playing either fetch or tug of war. I mean she never tires out, ever. I've literally played with her for hours at a time trying to wear her out.

The only thing she enjoys more is swimming. It's pretty amusing we've trained her to jump either from the side or off the diving board into the pool to get her ball.

Golden retrievers and chocolate labs. Most mild tempered dogs I've ever seen.

I have a golden retriever who doesn't retrieve, hates water and is frightened by everything

he is a good boy

I'll get another one, I'd like to see the more common golden attributes next time around

Shih Tzu. Had big dogs, medium dogs, mutts, and purebreds, but none have come close to level of affection this little dude shows. I'm 6'3" 270 and thank him for his love by proudly walking that little bastard ery day!

We had a female golden retriever who hated the sound of guns. We don't hunt, so we didn't care. She was such a sweetheart who loved to play right up until the day she died, and loved to be hugged and petted. She would climb in your lap sometimes if you'd let her. She was a great dog. It took me a long time to get over her passing.

My dad had an old chocolate lab named Lucky for a few years. That dog was so mild mannered and passive, I don't think you could have made him mean if you wanted to. He had one funny quirk about him though, he insisted that someone sit with him while he ate out in the garage. If you snuck away inside, he would bark until you went back out there with him.
