re: What are your doctor friends saying about Covid?

I could care less about sexual demonic cysts. What I care about are the hundreds of doctors who practice in the real world, who are seeing this bs day in and day out, which you are not, and are calling out the doctors who solely run on data. Fauci has not seen patients. Gupta has not seen patients.
Ok, so google isn’t blocking his google doc. But, youtube, Twitter, Facebook, etc are blocking his and his colleagues’ work. How can you ignore the actual practitioners? That’s insane. You must be a dude who wears his mask while alone in his Prius.

other than berating people on facebook for having the gall to have an opinion based on the available info? Not much other than "listen to the doctors"
uhhhh they all say different shite, dumbass. doesn't take 10 years of school to figure out we are being lied to

I find my doctor friends are as divided as regular people based on their political beliefs. The difference is my doctor friends are not nearly as adamant as regular people seem to be. They’re smart enough to know they don’t have the answers, that the media and politicians both lie, and they all seem to advise some amount of caution at the very least both in regards to the economy and personal behavior.

I'm not sure what you are saying. Did Fauci, with his long and distinguished career, not understand how masks work and just made up "unintended consequences" with wearing a mask.
Surely he of all people would understand how effective a mask would be at preventing the spread of virus that can be transmitted person to person. He has dealt with a number of viruses in his long career.
It's almost as if you AGREE with me that Fauci played politics. You seem to think he played politics by saying a mask was largely ineffective to prevent a mask shortage and was fine with the subsequent consequences of not wearing a mask. What's a few thousand deaths among friends? I mean... as long as there was no mask shortage.
Good god. WITF do you people come from? God help us.

Around these parts, doctors are saying that from a respiratory standpoint it can be mild or severe, just like any other respiratory infection but is typically worse on the elderly or obese as others have said.
Their biggest concern is the increase in the amount of strokes they are seeing, which are not age specific and are occurring in people that are testing positive for COVID but are asymptomatic.

Are you saying that a doctor who believes in such things should be taken as seriously as any other doctor?
quote:Well, if you listen to them, then you would see how much bs the people in that "frontline doctors" video are spewing.

quote:I already pointed out that his work on HCQ has not been blocked or even suppressed. What is being blocked is propaganda videos.

I'm a dude who sees what's going on. The bottom line is no one is going to prevent your doctor from prescribing HCQ or you from taking it. That is a decision to be made between doctor and patient, as is the case for the vast majority of medications. The only thing happening is the FDA is *not* going to recommend widespread use of a drug to treat a disease for which it has not been shown to be effective and which has a very long list of side effects, some of which are permanent and even deadly. That's how the FDA is supposed to work.

So, school kids will be screwed?
Two of my kids attended a week day camp that had 8 total kids (two weeks ago)all kids under 8yrold. The kids did not wear facemask the entire week and were in direct contact with each other. One child complained of a headache on Thursday and then again Friday morning. The parents brought that kid with a headache to get tested that Friday morning and the child tested positive (no other symptoms). The other 7 kids were tested last week and all the other kids tested negative.
If kids were able to pass the virus between each other it would have happened. Maybe we just got lucky especially since my kids were 1/4 of the class. It just amazes me that no other kids got the virus.

I'm not sure what you are saying. Did Fauci, with his long and distinguished career, not understand how masks work and just made up "unintended consequences" with wearing a mask.
quote:Yes, he understands quite well. That's why he said "right now" in March that Americans should not buy up all the masks, because at the time only ~1,000 Americans were confirmed infected and HCWs were faced with a mask shortage. This is really simple.
Surely he of all people would understand how effective a mask would be at preventing the spread of virus that can be transmitted person to person. He has dealt with a number of viruses in his long career.

Wear a mask in public, wash your hands frequently and practice social distancing is the advice from my doctor. Everything else is overkill.

I’m a doctor.
Lockdowns don’t work.
Keep your distance. Where a mask.
If sick, get tested.
It’s another infection for humans to deal with.
Most people will live through it. 99.5%.
Some will be very sick and a few will die.
We don’t get a choice in the outcome.
Bars should be closed or very limited with spacing.
No concerts, no choirs.
It’s a mixed bag, but shutting things down is worse.
Schools should have never closed.
If schools do not reopen, money should be returned to the taxpayers.

Also self-purported NOLA COVID expert Joe Kanter's house has a very large BLM flag flying.

So you think this is what he did. He never said that is what he did but in order to avoid looking like a complete dumbass you state he did this to benefit the greatest number of people. This is pure speculation on your part with nothing factual to back it up. Nada.
Look here... if you want to suck Fauci's cock that is fine with me. Just say that's what you want to do instead of writing so much bullshite and trying to interject what you "hope" he was trying to do because it makes your horseshite narrative seem plausible.

I work with 14 doctors and their opinions vary just like people on here.
About 10 say it’s way overblown unless you have a BMI over 40. Use common sense but do say bars could be a big way for virus to spread since people are in close quarters for long periods of time.
2 are a little more concerned
2 are Karen’s and won’t even see a patient except via Telemedicine.

I have a friend who's an emergency room surgeon and he said that ultimately you don't want to end up on a ventilator. From the research he's seen and read about so far, if you do, there's about a 50% chance that you'll get off of it.

Tri sad thing Kirk isn’t getting or doesn’t want to about Fauci is the need of healthy skepticism after “the mask” comment flip flopping.
If the goal was to preserve N95 masks/PPE for “frontlines” say so. Not the condescension both times and we should believe him no questions asked.
