Looking good (especially is you are a woman) is never a waste of money.
I hate to agree but it's true. I'm not shallow by any stretch but a woman with fresh painted nails, smooth legs and a little eye shadow and lip stuff is very pleasant for a once a month date with a sig other.

Gym membership
This and spotify are the two things that I'm happy to pay for every month.
For me I would definitely say eating out. I spend an obscene amount of my budget eating out, although I almost never go to the grocery store except for things like milk and beer

Good call. Dental and vision (my eyes are fine, but at least I can get sunglasses) are pretty much worthless.
Medical and a good drug plan are the only two that pay off.

Can't argue with that. As a dentist, I'm comfortable saying that dental plans generally suck for most people. Unless your employer provides it at little or no cost to you, dental plans aren't worth the expense unless you know you have major dental problems that will require a lot of work over a few years. The worst are fee-for-service plans - the ones where you pay a premium and then get a reduced fee schedule. In our office, some of the fee schedules on those plans were higher than our regular fees. And most people had no idea what they paid for - they would be shocked when they learned that the insurance didn't pay a dime towards their work.

I would never pay for dental or vision unless it was bundled in through my work.
I had vision through work and was able to put $200 towards sunglasses, Any brand, every six months. Just had the eye doctor bill them as lenses and frames to my insurance. I only had to pay tax and shipping and anything over $200. Needless to say, I stocked up on sunglasses pretty good over the 5 years I worked there. And once word got around to everyone at the office, I think they all went and got at least one pair.

Not a waste per se, but several of my cars are frivolous.

Not really a waste but daycare is effing expensive. We could have went with cheaper options but we are going with a Goddard school for the educational benefit.

We subbed out or own house to save on GC fees, it was going really well until my wife gave the painter the house color and we went on vacation for 3 days to come home to the wrong color house.
That was an expensive mistake.

Casino and golf. Both of them end up with me just mad in about 30 minutes thinking "Why am I paying to get pissed off?"
