A former DKE pledge (he flunked out and didn't make it to initiation) is currently doing federal time for running a 58 million$ ponzi scheme in and around Shreveport. He was promising exorbitant returns based on nonexistent oil and gas leases. At one point he was trying to keep the con afloat by expanding to NYC. He hired a professional makeup artist to make him look like an Orthodox Jew. At trial he tried to have himself declared incompetent by reason of dementia but that didn't work. LINK
I will say the DKE reputation as well connected ballers seems to have taken a hit. . One of the kids arrested in the most recent hazing incident that got them shut down is the son of a discount furniture store owner from Ferriday.

You got that right. There were full on brawls in the fraternity section at home games fueled by drinking all day before the game and sneaking JD/Crown into the game.
Anybody remember a brawl on the lake in probably Fall 05/spring 06? I got deposed as a result of that but nothing ever came of it. I took off school for a semester and never went back to Greek life. Not as a result of that but i just found it kinda lame

Fun police/ nanny state clamped down in the 90s, and nowadays kids don't drink as much. And too much litigation and insurance issues. It's just a different world now. Hard to replicate what you see in that video in the present day.
I always thought the best part of the video is the stark contrast drawn when they interview the then president of Sigma Chi.

They stopped the beer trucks around 88 or 89....."liability" so then we just pivoted. We bought lots of cases of beer lined the bed of a pick up truck and dumped the beer and ice in that.
Then, Greek Affairs decided in the early or mid 90s to move bid night off campus. I remember being told this by my younger brother and I said, it would be a mistake because it would move to bars and the bars would sponsor and the liability exposure would be multiplied.....I was proven right with the Ben Wynn SAE incident
