Everywhere on campus will be "popular" because so many people eat at these places. But it really is broken down into Northgate and Southgate in terms of popular spots to eat at.

In the little block of Chimes and Highland you have basically every type of food anyone in college could want.
Kaminari- pretty good little asian/hibachi/sushi buffet, for $10 at lunch it really is a good deal, and bitches love sushi, also have Koi sushi, I am not a huge sushi fan at all but just options.
Chipotle
Five Guys
Buffalo Wild Wings
Chimes
Inga's
Pita Pit
If your buddies son like women, then let him know about Insomnia Cookies.

South of campus just has too many to name.

So there's no Wendy's anymore?

Dont know if it's still there, but as an engineering student, I had many meals at Pierre's Landing or whatever it was called. I lived on sausage, egg and cheese biscuits and personal pizzas.

Geez, tell the kids parents to lighten up. The kid will find places to eat.

What is most popular with students? I'd imagine the Union and the dining halls. New college students aren't really the people you see in Chimes.

I guess they probably hit up Inga's and Five Guys and Chipotle from time to time, but students who live on campus are required to have an extremely overpriced meal plan, so I'm sure that is what they are all stuck eating.

Why do you ask? Is the student looking to work somewhere near campus? Or just wanting to know which of the few get the most foot traffic?

If you're just asking for actual places on campus.. there aren't too many hidden gems. There's the Taco Bell and store by 459. There's 459. There's some other dining hall -- Magnolia or something. There's Subway by Middleton. There's the Union with Panda Express, Chick Fil A, pizza, etc. There's Pierre's Landing if it is still open with a pizza place and salad, I believe. They also do breakfast biscuits. There's McDonalds on the bottom floor of the Union. There's coffee shop in library -- not sure if new bookstore has one. There's the coffee/panini/salad Starbucks in Design Building. I think there's a build-you-own-salad place in Union, but I could be wrong on that.

And then a good little higher end place with good prices is the Faculty Club.. I think it is now called The Club at Union Square. If it is still $10 for everything on the menu and white tablecloth, he could impress a college girl taking her there for lunch.

On campus???

Eat in the student union.

The various cafeterias but you need a meal plan to get in there.

No idea. I graduated in May of 2014, but haven't been full time and actually spending time outside of the classroom on campus in 5-6 years.

You do? When I was there, it was like $7-$8 in TigerCash if you didn't have a meal plan. Also people with meal plans could buy you lunch on their card.

THIS. It's a little known campus treasure on the top floor of the union. I didn't know about it until the end of my 2nd year.
