go to Alexandria and other rural parts of the state. AGs, ADAs, City Attys, law clerks, IDB offices, etc. are frequently SULC grads. Nothing wrong with that, mind you.

All positions that require trial experience, great writing skills, and knowledge of how the world works. They are at these jobs because employers know that SULC grads have developed those skills during law school.

This is class A trolling.

my advice is to drop out of law school. no jobs, none worth having anyway... firm model is fastly becoming a dinosaur model... technology and flat economy has ruined the practice.... go learn you a trade.

my son has a 3.34 and a 164, full ride for SULC? what kind of scholarship could he get for LsuLS
Probably close to a full ride. If he wants to work in Louisiana, he needs to take that ride and come out with no debt. If he wants to work in Houston, he can chance it but will need to do very well to cross the border. Anywhere else is probably a bad idea for him to go to law school at LSU. He would have better luck at Tulane.

I sincerely hope no one takes you seriously. God that would be disappointing.

Exactly my point. SULC prepares you for the real world practice of law. Something LSU grads don't have at graduation.
I've never been one to shite on Southern like a lot of PMH grads. A smart, motivated individual can get through SULaw and do just fine.
But on the whole, LSU has a better network for interns, externs, and graduates to find work and experience, and they provide better preparation for the bar. Almost every statistic points to LSU providing a better legal education and setting their students up for success.
I say all these things assuming you're not trolling, which you probably are. Feel free to disregard.

It's such a shame that more of these practice ready SULC grads can't pass the bar.

Less than 50% chance to get license, but better prepared to actually practice. Maybe they need a little less of that practical preparation.

There is a lot more to it than that.

I do not know first hand, I only know what I have heard from people who went to both schools.. I don't think Southern Law school has the best percentage when it comes to students who pass the bar exam so I would say he is dreaming if he thinks he will be able to transfer.. If he was not able to get in the first time.

So basically I should've gone to southern law. I hate the competiveness at LSU law. I'm a small town guy just trying to return to that small town area. My grades basically mean nothing as long as I do well enough to graduate. I do realize there are a few positives of my choice 1.more likely to pass the bar on 1st try 2. Pedigree of LSU law degree 3. Still get student football tickets lol.

Absolutely take the LSAT again. I guess it's too late to take the December, but he can still take the February. I had a below average GPA for LSU coming out of undergrad. I underperformed and got a 160 in December. I decided to delay sending in my application and took the February test and got a 165. That was good enough to get me a full scholarship to LSU even with being a late applicant.
With practice, anyone can improve on the LSAT. It's worth putting in the time to save yourself tens of thousands of dollars. Anything over a 157 should get him in, and likely with a little money, if his GPA isn't completely trashed. With that said, LSAT score means very little for how well you'll do in law school IMO.
Also, I have a couple of friends who transferred to LSU from Southern. But I would absolutely recommend improving LSAT score over trying to transfer.

Why would you hate the competitiveness? That should provide more incentive.

I guess kind of what was alluded to earlier by someone else. The effort I put into to get my 2.6 would get me a much higher grade at Southern. Add in the fact that my grades don't mean much for where I want to work= me hating the competiveness. I'm not trying to work in BR,Nola, or some large out of state city.

Where are you looking to work? Grades will still matter unless you're going work for a family member and have a job lined up already.

No. Its not me. If you haven't noticed, I have been silent on Southern.
