What are the biggest sacrifices you have had to make as a parent?

Was talking about it yesterday with a buddy of mine. We hardly get to play golf anymore since our kids have come. Said kids are 3 and under

I'd say ours (mine and my wife's (no pics)) would be:

-personal space
-a clean house
-a clean vehicle
-time at the fishing camp.
-time on a golf course

That first child, but Moloch demands satisfaction.

So let me get this straight - this is a thread complaining about losing the things you used to do because of children? Really?

Kids are the greatest gift one could have. It takes a short-sighted, narrow mind to complain that one's golf time is not as much as before because you have to take care of the kids. Good grief.

I'm a single Dad with no time to do the things and that doesn't bother me one bit. I prefer it this way. Some people.

Time for your own stuff. I used to camp and do a lot out of recreational sports (softball, basketball, kayaking). It'll get better once they get older and I can introduce them to that stuff

Easy there, trigger. I love my kids to death. the sacrifices are totally worth it... that said, let's not pretend like there aren't sacrifices.

I'd imagine the biggest is that your life would now come second to your child's. Hence why I don't have one yet - I'm too damned selfish

Honestly nothing. A lot of those things I used to look forward to I'd easily much rather spend with my daughter. Watching her growing up is the best thing I've ever experienced.

What a dumb belief. Next your going to be telling me that people have kids because they love children and not because they need labor in the fields.

That's unfortunate. After reading your posts on the Vietnam War, it's obvious your kids don't stand a chance.
