Erath and North Vermilion for public schools in Vermilion Parish. Erath probably has an edge as NVHS is getting some trashy people from Kaplan and Abbeville.

I have no idea what the actual stats are, but I would expect 90% to qualify for TOPS at a private school with ~40 kids per graduating class.

Aren't the qualifications something like a 2.5 gpa and an 18 on the ACT?

ETA: I would be pretty pissed if I was paying for my kid's education and they couldn't meet those paltry standards.

90% of our graduating class qualified for TOPS.

I was way more prepared for college than some of my classmates at LSU

Don't let that VC girl who broke your heart do this to you

Unless things changed drastically VC was bush league in college prep compared to other schools.

Milton is zoned for Comeaux (there may be some parts that are zoned for Southside, but I'm not certain about that).

Well kind of. Both my kids are straight A students with >30 on the ACT. So I’ve never really had to worry about it.

I can’t find the stats right now, but I think I read a couple years ago that something like only 40% of VC grads went to college.

I guess they just go back to the rice farming.

I just looked it up, because I was curious about standardized test scores between VC, Erath, and North Vermilion. And the average scores at a couple of the private schools in Lafayette.

VC: 22
North Vermilion: 21
Erath: 20

STM: 24
Teurlings: 22

I just read ESA has the highest average ACT in the state with 29. Maybe all the money IS worth it.

All of Milton? I was just on the LPSS looking at addresses that were labeled "Milton" and they had the associated high school as Comeaux. That may have been an old site that hasn't been updated with Southside info yet, though.

ETA: just looked at it, it was an old site from 2015

ETA2: I believe this is the new map: LINK

We used to say that most ESA kids end up either in the Ivy League or in rehab. There are some normal ESA grads, but not many.

My son was not quite Ivy League (went to Fordham for undergrad) but neither is he a rehab candidate.

He just completed his Internal Medicine residency and began a 3 year fellowship in Pulmonary Critical Care.

Not sure if that qualifies as normal or not, but I’d say it’s definitely a testament to the education he got at ESA.
