I know there are a lot of Public/Private//Select schools in the area but what makes Vermillion Catholic better than St Thomas Moore or Teurlings?

ETA I realize LCA and Notre Dame dominates the area

ESA is allegedly the best school in the state but the stereotype is that kids from there are “weird”

More normal rich kids go to Ascension

Teurlings has gained favor over STM from most families per my laffy friends

Correct

TCH has tighter parental control over the kids (always exceptions), but they are the pretty close in academics. STM has much better athletics, and STM has the Options program for disabled kids, really awesome. Take your pick, the price is about $500 difference. Can't go wrong either way.

Why are you under the impression VC is better?

My kids went there .. they just colsolidared VC and Mt Carmel is it’s all one school with an upper and lower campus.

Maybe more course offerings at the Lafayette schools? Religious aspect will be the same — athletics will likely be better in Lafayette.

Smaller student body .. so e would call that a plus and some would call it a negative.

Erath High has been one of the best non-selective admission public schools in the state for many years.

I don't know about the state, but it's definitely number one in the area. The college acceptance of any random graduating class is more impressive than all Lafayette area valedictorians combined.

ESA alum here and I send my kids to AES. I am not sure why people think VC is preferable to TC or STM.

For public schools, the two charter schools are beating out most of the other publics schools. Especially the one in youngsville (Acadians Renaissance Charter Academy). The one near Carencro (Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy) does pretty well but i heard they are building a High School with top notch sports facilities soon.

For a true public school (non charter) Milton is the absolute best and would put it equal to the charter schools or maybe even slightly above.

Private schools, I’ll agree with everything already said.
