In college back in the late 80's before we would go out we would each put $2.05 in our left pocket. The rest of our party cash went in the right pocket. After a night at The Bengal, Sports, and Fred's, we would stumble over to the McDonald's on Chimes street. A quarter pounder, fries, and water was $2.05. Many a night I was grateful for this little habit, and that quarter pounder was incredible.

as a senior in hs, McDonald's burgers were $.20/ea., another nickel if you wanted cheese, at the 7-11 across the street from our hs, Old Milwaukee quarts were $.55/ea., or two for a dollar, we'd go straight from practice and and get a couple of quarts to cut the road dust, proprietor knew we were hs kids, didn't bat an eye, he'd even ask us about upcoming games or the last game

McDonald’s had a 2 Big Mac combo for 4.99

Biggie Size at Wendy’s was like 35 cents

Gas was 3.89 a gallon because I drove a 99 GMC z71 in high school with a 6 inch lift and 35 inch mud grips. My friends had to pitch in gas money to ride to parties

This. I've gone to Burger King way less frequently after this ended.

I miss fast food being actually cheaper than other options. I can just go to a burger diner, Chinese buffet, or Mexican restaurant and get better quality food for the same 10 bucks it costs to get a combo at BK or Wendy’s. And fast food quality is worse now. Wendys used to be awesome, BK was decent. Now both are terrible to the point I think McDonald’s is actually better now. Even the sonic here is crap and I used to love sonic burgers

Thinking how bizarre it is I went to a legit “penny pitchers” night when visiting friends at Nicholls in Thibodeaux during college. That was just 10 years ago. Can’t imagine there’s bars anywhere that still do that.

1970/71 gas around $0.19 a gallon. We would put in $1 worth into my buddy’s ‘67 Mustang and be good for a day.

I remember when gas hit $.50/gallon. You would have thought the world was coming to an end.

Dang, I'm an old fart.

5 cent short cokes in the machine with the handle you had to push down after inserting your nickel.

"Jacks hamburgers for 15 cents are so good good good, that you'll come back back back to Jack Jack Jacks for more more more."

5 cent Krystal burgers.

The Butter Burgers (normal size) at the Frostop where I worked were 30 cents and the Lot-A-Burgers were 49 cents.

I can remember 20 cent gas (earlier than HS). I can remember $3.00 to fill the tank and emergency reservoir on a VW bug during High School days.

Getting only $2.00 to cut a really big yard.

10 cent DC, or Dell comics

$4500.00 Corvette Stingray

5 cent candy bars

5 cent single scoop ice cream cones

15 cent milkshakes from machines at McDonalds that never were turned off. 15 cent McDonalds burgers.

25 cent packs of cigarettes, back when smoking was good for you.

Do I remember $150 a kilo Weed?
