This doesn't happen too often. You work 40 hrs a week; the guy making 200 is working 60+.
There is a reason why successful people make more money. Most of the time, that reason isnt merely luck.

how do you break into sales?
All it requires is an expert level of bullshite.
many sales jobs, yes. But c-suite level consulting sales require total transparency and honesty, as reputation is everything. You're not "on the the next one" in these roles. You are awarded the business and then the real work begins. You can't do that if you bullshitted your way in. And it's tough to bullshite a sophisticated buyer.

My wife (no pics) both retired from the military and are a fairly high percentage disabled through the VA. We both get a pension from the military and disability through the VA. I work as a Logistics Coordinator offshore and she is in college and works at a restaurant. No insurance premium and use my company for vision and dental which saves a hell of a lot of money. Kids college tuition is paid for since she’s Permanently and totally disabled again saves a lot of money. Between Pensions, Disability, my salary, her GI Bill money, and her tips we clear over 150 a year. Now we live off of my salary and her tips pensions and disability money is given to a financial manager. I don’t want to work past 55
Unintentionally awesome post.

My wife and I together get close to that but I would never say that to anyone except an anonymous internet message board.
Cool, so one of you almost might make half of what he's talking about? Gotcha

I had a job on the table that would have been 150-200k but would have traveled 5 days a week and worked 50+ hours. Much more money than I make but didn't want that lifestyle. Have done close to that before and it was hell
There are opportunities in my field that are basically travel every week from Sunday-Thursday, but I refuse to do that nonsense unless I absolutely have to. The extra cash isn't worth it to me.

IDK but my Allstate agent and my friend who is a SF agent both live in $900k+ homes.

Very few people making $200k+ are only working 40 hours

I make a little less working less than 40 hours on average with a flex schedule and plenty of working from home. My title is Sr Site Reliability Engineer and I work for a very large company. Part of that salary number being higher is cost of living in the area

I doubt they make anywhere close to that

I can vouch that in Deep South, these guys make 120-160 and don't typically have to work too much over 40 unless working on a new project/unit.

We are the jack of all trade, master of none software engineers

I always tell people trying to pick a major or wondering if they should go back to school to think hard about Computer Science or a 3 month coding bootcamp like Galvanize. The money, lifestyle, job security and essentially anything you could want out of a career all seem to be there. I had to get off LinkedIn the recruiters were so bad and have been given a $250 just for talking to a company once. It's insane how much the demand outweighs the supply for good tech talent

I make that. Im in international sales for a global logistics company. Took me 30 years to get there and I work my arse off at all hours. The 40 hour work week doesnt exist, especially in a global economy.
