Two on my list in New Orleans are the abandoned Cold War Era Bomb Shelter in Lakeview & the old Lindy Boggs Medical Center on Jeff Davis.

The old brewery and ice house at the intersection of 49 and I 20 in Shreveport. Vagrants are likely to be inside, so dog and/or weaponry is probably advised. It was also very dank and mildewy last time I was there, as the basement is flooded. A mask of some kind is a must. The old Beaird Industries plant in Shreveport was kind of cool at one time, but not much is out there now and the place is guarded.

Went down there when it was open right after Katrina. Spent an entire day down there. It’s partially flooded so you need something to paddle. We found some car rooftop luggage carriers laying in the rubble a block away and a pirogue. Unbelievable down there, it’s like they just abandoned it one day with most of the stuff in it. I have a fallout shelter sign from it as a souvenir.
Edit: in the video you linked, he finds the boats we left haha.

There were some 2 story school buildings abandoned in east Claiborne Parish years back. I just remember they were white and 2 story. Right next to a curvy blacktop road. went back and few years ago and couldn't find them, probably didn't go down the right road. Kind of spooky.

We had a camp below the Ostrica locks when I was a kid. We used to go to Fort St. Phillip, which is across the river from Fort Jackson and only accessible by boat. Remember my uncle telling me to stay on the paths because there were unexploded shells still in the marsh. Did find some grape shot that I still have.
