iPod Classic has a 160GB hard drive. Your phone doesn't hold as much.

And as far as streaming it is concerned, local playback is superior for a number of reasons. Particularly uninterrupted service that never goes down and zero cost for service.

If you are in a spot where you have poor reception those options don't work that well, and it does happen. Also, it might be an old fashioned and obselete idea, but I like actually owning my own music and having a collection.
