Probably watching sports and realizing that some of the players are younger than me. We spend our childhoods looking up to pro athletes. That's pretty much gone by the time you're 30.

Seeing a thread with a bunch of 20 year olds talking about feeling old damn sure doesn’t make me feel any better.

I'm not saying I'm old. I'm saying that I can see the path towards it laid before me

It happens fast. I don't really feel old at 41, just not young anymore.

Only time that I feel a little old is when I'm around a bunch of 20 somethings.

Horrendous hangovers starting around 24ish. Now at almost 31, they last 2 days.

I just had an infection on my adam's apple take me out for the past month. Seven visits so far to minute clinics and ENTs, two surgeries, four doctors, and three different antibiotics. I got to celebrate turning 29 by sitting on my couch recuperating. I feel old as shite

I believe the first time I really thought about it was when I was about 26 or 27 and an 18 or 19 year old said yes sir to me.

Getting more excited about staying in to drink wine and watch a movie on my couch than going out to a bar.

Asking students if they remember anything from 9/11 and them replying that they weren't born yet.

I can top that. I was at the 9/11 site and museum a couple months ago, and there were a ton of school kids there, laughing, having a grand ole time. One kid, while watching a video of the 2nd plane hitting, commented that it was through butter.

Everyone old enough to remember that day pretty much walked through the whole place in silence or minimal talking. The kids who weren't born yet acted like it was a fun time.

Finishing college, getting 1st job, buying 1st house, getting married, having 1st kid.

I remember hearing that song 'Old Man' by Neil Young when I was a teenager and the verse '24 and there's so much more'. Being 24 felt so far away and then I'd get closer and closer, finally turning 24 felt like I was sort of a grown up. Now, 24 seems like a lifetime ago and I'm probably an Old Man.

Always fished without a hat until in my 20s, until one day I got sunburn on the top of my head. That's when I realized I was beginning to lose hair.

This makes me sad. But also shows proper respect isn't being taught by the adults in charge of those kids. I lived in Arlington at that time. I will never forget that day.

I agree a little, but I think it's more about witnessing the event vs reading about it in a history book. They don't have that emotional attachment to that day so it's not a somber place for them.

My mom would've smacked me though if I made a similar comment in say the JFK museum or something.
