I would rather get a root canal than call AT&T…
Don’t have a lot of other bad ones because if we have a bad experience, we change companies.
I had a surprisingly great experience with Uhaul last summer….rented the largest truck they offer, got in to a very minor fender bender and my insurance wouldn’t cover it because the truck was too heavy (some fine print bs). Uhaul called ME, asked about the details and said they would fight my insurance company about it or pay it themselves…I just didn’t want the poor man I hit to get screwed and have to use his own ins or worse me have to pay out of pocket…

From our trip this past week, Air France is horrific. They don't care at all about you. We dealt with an agent trying to reschedule a missed connection in Paris for close to 4 hours and at the end of her shift, she didn't say a word. Looked at her watch stood up and walked off. We only realized what happened when the next agent walked up to the customer service desk 10 minutes later asking how he could help us and he proceeded to tell us we were screwed. Ended up rebooking on Delta and now Air France has lost all 4 of our suit cases with no care in the world about where they are or if they're ever returned to us.

Customer service for the most part is sadly a thing of the past.

As a tech, I can tell you the only company worse than Cox is ATT. ATT is comically bad.
We didn't have ATT in our home, but one of their junction boxes was in our backyard. They had an outage and had to rewire, sloppy job and they left about 40' of connected cable draped on the fence and across my grass. It was unsightly and a pain to cut grass around it. Dozens of calls to ATT went nowhere, so I said 'frickit', I went out with cable cutters and snipped of the excess, disconnecting whoever was on that line.
A few hours later, here comes ATT in my backyard, he's looking at the cut cable and he's pissed. He accused me, but in the end he spliced the cable and moved on.

any chain tire/car repair place
There’s a new Tire Engineers that opened up close to LSU’s campus right next to the new Whataburger. I bet that place is raking in cash hand over foot. Baileys Jeep Grand Cherokee is overheating, here’s a bill for $900 to replace a water pump.

In a match race of which turd is more polished, I would say Lowe's is noticeably better than HD.
Much prefer shopping at Lowes. Menards is nicer than either however.

legacy media subscriptions
Wall Street Journal subscription customer service is beyond terrible. Basically you just get fricked over and have to take it.

Yea one time we got a rotisserie chicken and it smelled rotten when I got it home and took it out. The manager personally came to my house to bring me a replacement.
Wow- that’s remarkable!
I like their practice of giving you the item free if the price at register doesn’t match the price on the shelf.
Back in my poor days and before they got too automated, I might have gotten a free 20count wings box a time or two

You can eventually get a human/non-robot on the phone.

I was only speaking to their customer service, not any silly (and counterproductive, IMHO) political positions they have taken/will take.

Because the average consumer buys on price alone then expects white glove service. It doesn't profit you to provide quality service if people will not pay for it.

Uhaul. I have 3 different nightmares with them.
frick UHaul with a cactus. They royally screwed me over once. Charged me for 2 days instead of one, and hit me with a cleaning fee when the truck was spotless. They wouldn't bother to look into my customer service case, but sure as hell fought with my bank when I reversed the charges on my CC. Bunch of scumbags.
