I just started teaching my 12 year old son how to drive today at the empty parking lots at LSU. My dad taught me at that same age with a stick and I could never get the hang of it. After my son kept slamming the brakes the first few times after I told him to be gentle, I realized I couldn’t be a driver instructor.

15. Might have been late but she drove other things so she was familiar with steering and brakes and throttle. Just learn rules of the road and instrument controls for a car

I don't have any children, but I started at like 12 moving cars in the driveway when needed. Around 14 and 15 was when I really stated with things though

One was 13, then another was 12, another was 14, another was 10. The 10 year old learned with a 5 speed and was a natural with a clutch. I let them drive in a large school parking lot on weekends when literally empty. I forget the age of the other son when he learned.

I don’t think anyone ever taught me before I went to driving school at 15. Boys learn how to drive mostly from video games.

My son started in karts at 5 was in a U10 league at 7 and running shifter karts by 11. Started driving a car in the very back of the neighborhood with no houses built at I think 12, maybe 13.

He couldda been a contender but in his late 20s he drives like a mawmaw on zanaz.

10. She's 13 now, turned her loose. Not worried too much other than just normal worrying about everything. Grounded her once for flipping the side-by-side.

I started them at 12-13 years old on vacation or hunting trips in remote spots. I had my youngest kid on a 2 lane state highway at 12 years old; an 18 wheeler passed us and he nearly shite his pants. Good memories. My first drove 50 miles his first time in Big Bend.

And I was a shithead at 16, couple of days of drivers ed and I couldn't go without stealing beer from a gas station they let us walk to on our lunch break. I didn't get caught or ratted out, but I just look back at myself.

Had to take my driving test with 2 girls. They both fricked up and the teacher made me drive 90% of the time. We stopped at a store and I picked up some hard to find cassette tapes that those 2 bitches didn't want to listen to on the ride.

Oh well, I passed

Mine are only 7 and 4, so not yet. I feel my dad took me out to the backroads of Adams and Jefferson County at the ripe age of about 12 and let me tear the backroads up in his old 82 f-100

Mine were around 10 yrs old when I started teaching them.
I started learning to drive at 6 while dad threw square bale flakes off the back of the truck feeding cattle.

My oldest has been driving for 2 years so I guess I was about 46.
