That's what I thought. I got mine at 17.. I think it's because the parents become dependent on their smart phones and start to think you cant function without them, and that their kids need them

Since everyone is so rich and the family lives are so great, just give it to them at age 6.
People are so stupid. Even the poor who claim they live pay check to pay check and have trouble feeding their family all have smart phones.
It's kind of one of those rights, like big homes, new cars, 60 inch tvs and full cable package, nails and hair done every other week, and of course eating out 4 times a week.

Work at an elementary school. 1st graders have em and pretty much every 3rd grader has em.

I got my first cell when I was 22, my son got his at nine. Amazing how fast they became a necessity.

35. I resisted getting one for a while, but then I started needing one for work.

It was 1990. I had just gotten my drivers license

I was thinking you were 22 when everyone started getting them, rather than waiting.

Got my first one when I was 15 (21 now). I didn't really need one before (but boy did I want one), but I could see kids needing to contact their parents after school or something at a younger age. Starting middle school makes sense.

I was the last guy I knew with a pager.

This is ridiculous. I didn't have a phone till I was 15 or 16. And its not because the folks were strict. I just had no desire for one. Social skills are flying out the window at an alarming rate.

My daughter is 2 she has one......by leapfrog.

And fitness. So many kids are staying indoors on their cellphones playing games instead of riding bikes and playing "hide and so seek"
