What % of traffic issues are caused by rigs/tanker trucks/etc?

Sitting here in traffic, trying to cross the Sunshine Bridge in Convent, LA, while a tanker truck sits stalled in the only open eastbound lane in the middle of the fricking bridge.

Cell phones are the real problem

They do make up the majority of stalled vehicles. And their slow acceleration from stop compounds traffic issues even more.

35.0 percent. My estimate.

100%
I can 100% assure you whenever the tollway here slows down and bunches up, its because a 18-wheeler is in the middle lane and folks are trying to change lanes to get around him.
OR a Prius in the left lane.

0. The real traffic issues is you amateur drivers getting in the professionals way. Don’t like trucks? Have fun wiping your butt with your hand!!

I’m parked with the engine shutoff admiring the Motiva Facilty.

I'd say it's probably a very small %. The biggest problem we have with traffic is idiots on their phones who don't drive when the light turns green, drive slowly and hold traffic up, causing more people to get caught by red lights, who don't stop when they're supposed to and end up rear ending others or getting rear ended themselves, and who stop in the middle of the roadway to let others in.

If only there was a way to group these by how many wheels they have.

And their insistence to get in the passing lane when they can't go over 70 causes endless rolling roadblocks

Why cannot humans realize how easy the problem is and just put the phones up while they drive?
What I cannot stand is soccer mom rolling down a 4 lane like she is drunk driving and she has a phone glued to her ear. Bitch, that Audi comes with Bluetooth. Use that shite.

Not all of them pull loads on similar wheel counts.

It's nice driving in states where big trucks are required to stay in the right lane.

Nothing pisses me off more than a light turning green and nobody moving. 3-4 times a day I have to honk to get a car to go.
That or a light turning green and everyone just creeping through it leaving 5-6 car lengths between each other.

I wish Louisiana would make this a law or enforce it if it is.

This. There are so many turns where if people would just scooch up, 5 to 7 left turners who cannot get into the lane are sitting through another light.
And of course...this is due to cell phone usage while stopped.

my main issue with 18-wheelers... esp. when the rest of the flow of traffic was at about 75 before that truck got into the left lane and caused everyone to hit the brakes
and then it takes 5 miles to make the pass and get out of the fast line b/c 1 truck's going 69.9 mph and the other's going 70.0 mph
