Guy works his arse off daily to get vehicle, pays vehicle off, plans on driving it for years to set his family up financially. Guy goes to spend an evening at a work event and the staff at the hotel blatantly loses his vehicle to thugs. I’m not sad, I’m Fn pissed

Did you have an LSU shirt on? Did your onstar originally show it being 10 miles away?
It took forever for my Dad to get his van this morning and he was talking about you

Yes that was me.
And I left my key with Valet. I have on star and when they were looking for my keys this morning I checked the location and it was across town. When I called on Star they were unable to shut the engine off or connect to my truck at all
The far reach of the OT never stops impressing me.

I get that but this is now a nine page thread. Stuff like this happens all the time. Pull up your britches and move on.
ETA: and the valet service is not “staff at hotel” .. not that dishonest hotel staff never take anything of value. But those valet services are pretty sketchy for the most part.
In all likelihood they will find the vehicle and it will be returned to the owner.

Friend had his GM truck stolen, Onstar couldn’t locate it but they pitched in $5K on top of what insurance paid.

They normally park all the cars on the 6th floor out on the open area overlooking canal.

His account seems to fit a common theme. Created within a year, often 6 months or less. No more than a few hundred posts most of which are shitposts. Not sure if they're alters, bots or both.

Looking back, I can see how I may have came across as rude. I apologize about that.
Everything I have said is accurate. It sucks for the person it happens to but it’s an everyday occurrence and the vast majority of the time the vehicle is found within 30 days (a lot of times sooner) and handed back over to the owner. Of course then they have to deal with any damages that had occurred to the vehicle.
ETA: if I was the owner of the vehicle I would hope that it is never found as I would not want it back after it had been stolen.

I will about guarantee you somewhere on the valet ticket there is fine print stating Westin not responsible.
They may say that, but it doesnt make it true. Seems like a good way to run an actual car theft ring. Just print tickets that absolve your "valet company" of any responsibility for lost or stolen cars.
Just like those signs on the back of dump trucks that claim they aren't responsible for any damage from objects that come out of their vehicles. Not true at all. You can't just have an unsecured load in your vehicle and drive through town with shite flying out damaging other vehicles then just say "Whoops, but we aren't responsible for all that shite flying out of our vehicle. We are absolve and good luck on the new windshield!"

Either you or the valet are in on it. It is almost impossible to steal a later model GM without a coded key. Everything is linked to that FOB. You can’t just walk up on a modern GM vehicle and jack it like the old days. You need dealership- grade equipment, an existing coded FOB and a lot of time.
Has it been recovered?
Did the valet still have the FOB?
You are just straight up wrong. All American, Japanese and Korean cars are fairly straightforward to steal with the right gear. Most Euro makes outside VW Group products are as well. The latter are so hard to steal that its not unheard of for dealers to accidentally brick the cars while servicing them, requiring special dispensation of key fobs and parts from Der Fatherland to get them going again.

I hope Im wrong and Marriott steps up.
They sure as hell dont mind charging out the arse for parking and then pretending they no responsibility.
