That’s about the time you’ve topped out at your pyramid level and get passed over and nudged out with a pension. Cousin is giving you the sugar coated version.
Col requires 22 years though.
This.
And considering he was tired of moving around the country, and multiple deployments, with a wife and "The Cavalry Curse" I think I'll believe him.
Besides the fact he had said consistently from WP forward he was staying 20 years and that was it.

Ain’t no set time. Between wwI and II you had 20 year lieutenants. Start up wwII you have privates frocked to Lts. If there’s not a lot going on, war wise, you fall victim to the pyramid system.
Multiple sites claim it is 22 years minimum for a colonel.
This isn't the brevet system used in wartime.

I wonder what the media would do if a soldier went psycho and started shooting people.
In 2009, Nidal Hasan, a U.S. Army major and psychiatrist, fatally shot 13 people and injured more than 30 others. It was the deadliest mass shooting on an American military base.
It made the papers.

I work with a lot, a lot of grads from the service academies, many of them that are liaisons from their service branch to their academy, or are involved in other capacities, general consensus among them is that that all of the forced pc over the last few decades has diluted the standard of education at all of the academies to the point of them being reduced to almost community colleges, many wouldn't let their own kids go there, this is not to say there aren't some very highly qualified people that go there and leave with a great education, just that the standards have lowered to the point to where getting in and out is not based on merit very much anymore
I bet most West Point alumni don't post on a message board all fricking day but are bettering themselves and this country in their free time.

The more I learn about that Spaghetti Baloney dude, the more comfortable I become with another 4 years of JBE. Baloney is just an establishment thug.

West Point sent its football team to play in Hattiesburg once about 15 years ago and they vandalized the locker room pretty severely.
