Like him or not and say what you want about him but he is a graduate of West Point and that is pretty impressive. I don’t give a shite about him as governor but I respect his education.

It's about who you know as much as anything today.

I work with a lot, a lot of grads from the service academies, many of them that are liaisons from their service branch to their academy, or are involved in other capacities, general consensus among them is that that all of the forced pc over the last few decades has diluted the standard of education at all of the academies to the point of them being reduced to almost community colleges, many wouldn't let their own kids go there, this is not to say there aren't some very highly qualified people that go there and leave with a great education, just that the standards have lowered to the point to where getting in and out is not based on merit very much anymore
ETA: also, it hasn't been too long since part of the contract was, you couldn't just quit, or if you flunked out, you didn't go home crying like a little bitch to mama, you went to boot camp, pretty good motivator right there

Thats part of it, but theres a large number of cadets there that got in as enlisted soldiers (without congressional nomination), not high school seniors.

Theres a phrase among old grads for this- "the corps has...".
There were a lot of changes in the late 90s that were meant to make West Point more bearable, but some people think it made West Point lose its edge. These (ironically) were called "the changes". Hazing, plebe abuse, among others were outlawed.

Back in 97 when I lived in Colorado an Air Force pilot from Tucson in an A-10 with a live bomb load broke formation and flew around for hours before flying into a mountain. I read that it was his first bombing practice run and his Mom was a Jehovahs Witness and he was possibly in the middle of a psychological conflict about it that sent him over the edge. As if we needed another reason to hate Jehovahs Witness crackpots.

30 magazine clip, can be fired in half a second.
The standard rate of fire for the M-4 in auto mode is @ 6 rounds per second.
That gives you an average time of emptying a 30 round magazine in @ 5 seconds.
Of course I'm talking real world and not Call of Duty, FTR

Not like he could simply walk in the nearest Academy Sports and buy all the ammo he wants......
