West Monroe man takes his troubles to church

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A man is accused of crashing his truck into a Ouachita Parish church while intoxicated. It happened early Sunday morning at Ouachita Baptist Church on Highway 3033 (Cheniere Lake Road.)
Louisiana State Police say they found Jordan Guidry passed out behind the wheel of his Ford F150 around 3 o'clock in the morning. Police say the accelerator was depressed and the engine was still running. The trooper also says there was a half-full Michelob Ultra beer can in the front console.
According to arrest records, the trooper awoke Guidry and administered a field sobriety test. The trooper noted that Guidry performed poorly. Guidry was arrested and placed into the police unit. Police say Guidry then fell asleep on the way to the Ouachita Parish Correctional Center.
At OCC, police say Guidry refused to submit to a chemical test for intoxication.
Guidry was booked on charges of careless operation, having an open container, and driving while intoxicated (1st offense.)
Arrest records did not specify the details of any damage to the church building.
