West Memphis 3

I saw the documentary "Paradise Lost - Part 1" awhile back and the other day I watched part 2 and 3. I was certain the goofy step dad Mark Byers was the killer. Now after watching parts 2 and 3, I am leaning towards other step dad, Terry Hobbs.
This has to be one of the more baffling cases I have seen.
Who do you think did it?????

There was a long thread about this awhile back with a bunch of good links to research. I'm pretty certain the WM3 actually did it.
Also - check out The Devil's Knot just for the entertainment value.

Terry Hobbs and his buddy. David Jacoby.
Possibly a third killer too.

I think the Miskelley kid they confessed had some knowledge or involvement.
But that’s just my personal opinion.

Didn’t he have some alibi like he was out of state wrestling but was too dumb to use it? I was pretty disappointed that the Echols kid got off. What a douche

Dear Facebook: Don't name your son Damien

Sweetwaterbilly,
What makes you think the WM3 did it? I ruled them out because I find it almost impossible that they could have done it and NOT left any evidence. That one kid was like 1 chromosome away from being retarded.
I was leaning hard towards Mark Byers until I found out that he was the one that called the cops first, never lawyered up, and his alibi during the time frames the kids could have been murdered was 110% verified. I just believe he was a very strange man and loved the attention of being a very strange man.
The man with blood on him that walked into Mr. Bojangles that night could have been the killer but we will never know who he was.
Terry Hobbs and his friend both had hair at the crime scene.

His name is actually Michael Wayne Nichols.
“Damien” is a nickname he gave himself.

the WM3 is a good litmus test for suitability to remain in society
if anyone still thinks they did it, after all the evidence that has emerged clearing them and pointing to Terry Hobbs, then you need to be forcibly sterilized.

Hes mentally challenged and the police interrogated him for hours on end. He would have said the sky was purple if it ended what they put him through.
The police were inept and ignorant as hell in that case. And the state of Arkansas should have paid for it but they threatened to drag it out for years if the WM3 wouldn't waive their rights to hold the state liable. It was a total travesty.

I read the book recently and have a few opinions. I think Mark Byers was definitely involved. Come on, he gave a random knife(that matched some wound marks on the boys), to TV producers when they were filming Paradise Lost. Also, they gave the knife to the police, which contained blood on it. It matched his sons DNA! Before this, he told police , he had never used the knife.
The only thing I can say about the WM3 that cast some doubt, was the confession of Miskelly. There had to be some basis on which his confession was told. I dont think it was all true, but there is something there. And Terry Hobbs??? weird

There really isn’t any evidence one way or the other.
There is a lack of physical evidence as the WM3 are concerned.
There is dna evidence from a hair in Terry Hobbs step sons shoe. But they did live together. Pretty easy to explain.
Little known fact - Terry Hobbs and his brother in law got into a confrontation and Hobbs shot his brother-in-law. The brother in law eventually died from complications from the gun wounds.
So he most likely killed his wife’s son and her brother.
