Or do you know anyone who was?

I'm talking during the actual exchanging of vows, not the reception after.

There was a cocktail luncheon before my wedding and a bartender in the church for the groomsmen and me. I would not have passed a breathalyzer, but I wouldn't say I was drunk.

A friend of mine got married and his wife got shite faced at the reception- fell down a couple of times, got into a verbal argument with someone. After the wedding, she got pissed at her new husband (my buddy) because he wanted to go back to the hotel and she wanted to go to...wait for it...The Gold Mine. They didn't consummate the marriage that night because she was pissed and spent the night in the bathroom. They divorced less than a year later. Now he's remarried to someone else and they have a few kids. All's well that ends well.

Nope. I AM the family member who "likes to party" but knew better than at this point.

Ended up tipsy later, but still kept it together. My case of whisky dick is terminal and well documented.

Not before. Managed about 4 drinks at the reception, then went to the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza in NOLA for drinks with friends and family (had a room for the night). Remember sitting on the bed about 4am eating leftover wedding food. Good times.

No, but I was hungover as frick. Personally, I wouldn't trust a man who wasn't hung over at his wedding.

It actually takes more mental gymnastics to equate taking communion with drinking cocktails and beer in order to get a buzz going.

They put the groomsman and myself in the back of the catholic church where store the decanter of wine and bread offerings. We might have shotgunned the wine before the ceremony. I just wanted to make sure I was extra blessed on that day!
